The Process

Seeking therapy can be daunting, but we’re here to help and make the process as easy as possible.

We provide talking treatments with the right staff of the highest quality. We aim to empower people to make informed choices and changes to improve well-being and live more fulfilled lives.

We use a range of different therapy approaches. Our sessions are structured and take place over a relatively short time, usually from six to twenty weeks depending on your needs.

The main difficulties we help people to overcome are:

  • Low Mood/depression
  • Anxiety
  • Worry/Stress
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Specific fears (phobias)
  • Feelings of panic
  • Intrusive / Unwanted thoughts
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD)
  • Traumatic events
  • Patterns of disordered eating
  • Social anxiety
  • Mild-moderate alcohol use difficulties

A therapist will contact you by phone. We will inform you by letter of the date and time of the call.

During the call we’ll find out more about the difficulties you’ve been having and check we’re the right service for you.

The phone call will take about 45 minutes.

Please do not self-refer to us if:

You are currently in crisis and require urgent support. If so, speak to your GP, health care professional or someone in your healthcare team about how you are feeling. Alternatively you can attend the Hospital Emergency Department and ask to speak with a mental health professional.

If we’re the best service for you, we’ll talk you through the different options and agree a plan. We’ll explain how long it will last, what you’ll need to do and how long you can expect to wait before commencing therapy.

We’ll put this in writing so you can see what we’ve agreed.

After talking with you, the therapist might decide that none of our treatments are right for you. They’ll let you know what to do next.
